It feels so good to be back in my hood! I’ve been in and out for a couple months now, so with a full weekend in town with no real plans, I ate and drank my way back home. I took the day off Friday and kicked off my food tour with smoothies with my dad at Prasad. Yum! Have you tried it? I stopped in at Gourmet Productions for lunch, and then headed to the east side for yogi, drinks at The Richmond Bar and dinner at Ava Gene’s. Let me pause there, and mention that if you haven’t been to Ava Gene’s yet, please do so immediately.

Nat and I brunched at Verdigris, a quaint little French-inspired bistro on NE Fremont on Saturday morning, and then Allen and I tried Fish Sauce later that day for early dinner. Ruby Jewel ice cream sandwiches ensued, and on to Sunday for Lovejoy Bakers, Mexican food and more Ruby Jewel ice cream sandwiches. Now that’s my kind of weekend.

Spring is comin’ friends, it’s comin’.
