There are a few items in my closet that I cannot live without – my J.Crew waffle knit sweater, my J Brand skinny jeans that I’ve had forever, and these D’Orsay flats from Chinese Laundry. You can’t tell from the photo (thank god), but this pair is falling apart at the seams and so stretched out that I can’t walk around without the soles flap-flapping against the sidewalk. I’m debating whether to just replace them with the exact same pair or buy a similar pair with a slightly different shape or pattern. This pair caught my eye in Madewell the other day, and although the price is a little steep, considering how much wear I got out of my Chinese Laundry pair, I think the price per wear principle applies here.

What do you think? Have you ever replaced worn out shoes with the exact same pair? These ones are also lovely.
