I drive by Bluehour every day, and while I’ve paid them several visits over the years, I stopped in for a special treat last night. Natalie and I had the opportunity to hang in the kitchen with Kyo Koo, checking out the fresh crab they received in that afternoon, that we would later devour, and overseeing the construction of a beet salad masterpiece. They plate with tweezers, it made me feel like I was on the popular TV show, Top Chef.
Later, we tasted other dishes from the menu like the pork belly hand cut wheat noodles, smoked duck breast and the most tender piece of salmon I’ve ever seen. The evening closed with a barrage of Bluehour desserts including the dark chocolate porter cake with salted brown butter caramel and malted vanilla bean milkshake, ummm, need I say more? Sansa apple cheesecake with spiced apple cake and black currant caramel, and the patisserie plate with assorted chocolate and petit fours.
The ambiance at Bluehour is so chic, I often times think it would be the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner or wedding reception, or as Natalie mentioned last night, 30th birthday. Thank you for hosting us last night, it was an absolute pleasure.
