feast portland 2014

Feast Portland is at it again September 18 – 21, and I can’t wait to celebrate Oregon’s bounty. Entering its third year, Feast Portland has been called “the best food festival in the country” by Thrillist National and applauded by the likes of Zagat, The Daily Meal, Serious Eats, Eater National Wall Street Journal, Food Republic, New York Post, Forbes and The Oregonian. Not bad for its third year.

Ava Gene's Portland

The schedule is organized similar to last year with dinner series, classes, tasting panels and a mix of main events. If you scored tickets to Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurants in America dinner series at Ava Gene’s, I am terribly jealous.

If you are still looking for available tickets, Thursday night’s marquee event, Widmer Brother’s Brewing Sandwich Invitational presented by Dave’s Killer Bread, is a great choice. Chefs compete for the ultimate honor of creating the best sandwich, as judged by attendees and a panel of esteemed judges, including Rob and Kurt Widmer, Josh Ozersky, Karen Brooks, and last year’s winner, Chef David Kriefels. Also, don’t miss Feast Portland’s almost sold-out new Sunday event, Tillamook Brunch Village. Chefs from Oregon and around the country will build their “towns” of bacon, eggs, pastries, and everything else that makes brunch Portland’s favorite meal.

You can find me at any of the Oregon Bounty Grand Tastings, Saturday’s Tasting Panels and Sunday’s Tillamook Brunch Village. Bon Appetit!
