Last Sunday was a gorgeous early summer day in Portland. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, the whole bit. So naturally, instead of, oh, I don’t know, frolicking in the park with my friends or something, I decided to spend the entire day inside cleaning, organizing and touching up paint on the condo.
No, honestly, it was the best way I could have spent my day (and Phil’s day, too ’cause, you know, teamwork). Now that the clutter has lifted and the condo is (mostly) put together, I feel like I can finally breathe in this space. (Being able to walk from room to room without tripping over boxes and shoes is also a plus.) And I still got to enjoy a beautiful early summer’s evening!
As a reward for all of that hard labor, I took myself for a late afternoon run along the waterfront before grabbing Phil and skipping down to our neighborhood sushi joint, Yama, for dinner al fresco. (FYI their crunchy spicy tuna roll is to die for.) No better way to cap off a super productive day than with a little people watching and a delicious meal.
