spring trend: bomber jackets

There’s something really easy about a great bomber jacket. Casually worn with a t-shirt, slouchy or distressed denim and sneakers, and you are perfectly dressed for lunch with girlfriends or dressed up with a skirt and a pair of heels, and you are ready for a night on the town. I chose pieces from the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection, which I realize isn’t in most of our budgets, but felt they were too good to pass by.

We know our girl Natalie is a big jacket person, while I remain to be more into my cozy knits. I think what turns me away from jackets most of the time is the structure. I feel boxed in and hidden, if that’s even a thing. But with these bomber jackets, they feel loose, comfortable and very chic.

There’s a saying I like, “Style is very personal. It has nothing to do with fashion. Fashion is over quickly. Style is forever.” While this is a fashion “trend”, I think it exudes style in many ways.
