cutout wedge

TWELFTH AVENUE

TWELFTH AVENUE TWELFTH AVENUETop: Floreat (similar here, here and here). Jeans: J Brand. Wedges: Matiko.

A mere 12 hours after these pictures were taken, I was brutally assaulted by some sort of stomach flu and spent the following 12 hours laid out on the couch, clutching my box of  Saltines and a red Gatorade and watching Gossip Girl…for the first time ever…I know I know, travesty. As if I didn’t love Blake Lively enough already, day-um, girl has got it goin’ onnn in that show. The beachy waves in Manhattan are a bit dissonant, but the knee-length coats, fabulous hats, insane ball gowns and riffs on the basic school uniform are just. so. good.

But enough of my #girlcrush. I have a much bigger love affair to attend to, namely these cutout wedges from Matiko. Amazing, right? The lace-up front reminds me of these wedges that Kelsey has (and which I’ve not-so-secretly coveted since she bought them), and the giant cutout wedge is playfully fun. I stalked them on Shopbop for a while until they finally went on sale, and I’m just now getting around to showing them to you (shame on me). They still have a few sizes left at Urban Outfitters, but I doubt they’ll hang around much longer. I like this look with my embroidered peasant top, but my favorite way to wear them is with a basic tee and skinnies a la Ashley Olsen. (Or is that MK? I can’t keep track.)
