I apologize for my scowl above. Against my better judgment, I decided to take these snaps at the hottest and brightest part of the day.

Weekend recap; bike rides, beers, BBQs, sunbathing and Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Does everyone know why we celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I was asked that one time at work. And due to the fact I had asked earlier that week what day Cinco de Mayo was, I failed. Let me tell you.

The holiday is observed to commemorate the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The date is observed in the United States to celebrate Mexican heritage and pride. If you thought all along that it was in celebration of Mexico’s Independence Day, you were incorrect.

So, I celebrated in my Sunday’s best. Gingham and fluorescent florals. Cheers!
